AusDBDF Level 1 Officials Course

DBNSW will be hosting a level 1 Officials Course in Urunga on Saturday 2nd December 2017. Thanks to a recent grant awarded to DBNSW the course is completely free for participants. 

Time: 9:00 - 16:00

Venue: C.ex Urunga, 2 Morgo St, Urunga NSW 2455

Course Content:

  •  1 day (8 hours)

  • Theory based on real life experiences

  • Preparing to Officiate (understanding ethical responsibilities, integrity)

  • Preparing physically and mentally

  • Analysing performance and feedback

  • Identifying information required to be a good official (continual improvement)

  • Identifying Risk Management practises at regattas (minimising risk) - Legal responsibilities vs duty of care

  • Identifying emergency procedures

  • Identifying effective communication at regattas

  • Strategies to deal with abuse, protests and disputes, negotiation skills

  • Effective leadership and teamwork

  • Understanding all the different official roles and their responsibilities

  • Race Rules and Regulations

  • Exam
