In celebration of Sydney WorldPride 2023, Dragon boat racing will never be the same as we get into an exciting new level of fun and spectacle.
Join us for Dragons on Darling on Saturday, 4 March 2023, at the iconic Cockle Bay Wharf, Darling Harbour.
Experience competitive dragon boat racing with our club, social and corporate crews while enjoying DJs, drag performances, fun race commentary and exciting festival races.

Entry is open to Dragon Boat (Sport) Clubs, Corporate Organisations, Social Groups, Registered Charities and Cancer Survivor Groups.

RACE DETAILS
Racing will commence at 8:00 am, and race times and finish time is subject to entry numbers and conditions on the day.
All teams must consist of a minimum of 16 paddlers to a maximum of 20 and may include up to 4 reserves.

FORMAT: 200m Straight Line Racing, Standard Boat (20s)
RACE CATEGORIES: (Note: No age categories)
- Mixed 20s Australian Clubs
- Mixed 20s International and Public
- Mixed 20s Corporates
- Mixed 20s World Pride Sports Program Crews
All races are mixed crews and are in line with DBNS race rules for a mix gender. Gender is determined by self-definition/identification at the time of the regatta.
The event will also include some festival races, including Dragon-ON Boat and Rainbow Races.

Individual sport injury insurance is provided to all Corporate Crew Members. Individuals must register as a Corporate Paddler for 2022/23 season HERE.
TRAINING
All Corporate, Social and Charity Teams MUST complete a minimum of one (1) training session before race day. All training sessions booked directly with DBNSW will occur at Bank Street, Pyrmont Sydney.
DBNSW will not charge any teams for sessions organised outside of Pyrmont, and the team contact must liaise and organise payment with the local club that is providing the external training session.

DBNSW relies on dedicated, valued officials and volunteers to conduct the event. Without their skills, experience and generous support, this event would not be possible.
Dragon Boats NSW is seeking passionate and committed volunteers for the Dragons on Darling races, to be held at Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour March 4th.
