Hello Clubs & Paddlers,

Please find below version 1 of the race draw for Round 4 Sunday 13th December @ SIRC, Penrith.

If your club has any issues or requests for changes please submit asap.

Premier/Junior racing is scheduled to take place between 0800 - 1200 with Senior Racing to kick off at 1230.

COVID restrictions will remain in place for this event and can be found on the dbnsw website.

Since the recent COVID relaxations we are able to operate our event much the same as previous "Community Event" status,  just without the capacity limit.

This will mean that we will be able to race all crews in a single Division against each other. We will still run the age divisions separate: Premiers and Juniors in the morning and Seniors from noon in the afternoon.

RACING

  • 500m standard 20’s boats
  • Divisions: Junior, Premier, Senior A – Mixed, Open and Women
    : Senior B - Mixed
  • Premier and Junior Racing will be first on the program (am), followed by Senior Racing (pm).
  • Combined crews will be allowed in the Open and Women divisions (which means two clubs will be allowed to combine in equal numbers to make up an Open or Women crew)
  • There will not be a start pontoon and crews will be lined up by the Starter.
  • Brooks Timing will be in place as per usual and race times will be automatically fed to the website for up to the minute results online. As per previous regattas this season, we will be endeavouring to give all crews 2 heats and a final (divisions with smaller crew numbers will be run in three rounds with the final result based on times).

REGISTRATION AND ACCESS

  • All paddlers will have been registered via Revsport.
  • Officials and volunteers must register via the QR code at the tower or at gate entry.
  • Wristbands will NOT be required for this event.

PARKING

Island parking is available until the limit is reached then overflow carpark near Gate A for all other cars after that.

COVID MARSHALLS

2 COVID Marshalls will be rostered on for this event to cover the team tent area and spectators in the Grandstand.

SPECTATORS

  • Spectators will be allowed to attend this regatta should they have a ticket.

  • Spectators must have a printed ticket to gain access at Gate A to Sydney International Regatta Centre. This ticket grants spectators’ access to the site and a seat in the covered grandstand. Seating is free seating and not numbered. COVID social distancing has been marked and should not be tampered with on the seating.
  • Spectators’ are able to move between the grandstand, merchants, bathroom and kiosk, but are not able to mingle with the competitors in their team area.
  • Please always keep your printed ticket on you.
  • Any last minute Spectators can use the QR code onsite on the day, if they are unable to pre register via Eventbrite.

TEAM TENTS

  • Clubs should erect their tents with sufficient distancing from other clubs, there will no longer be the need  for markings to be on the grass. Paddlers should stay in this area unless moving to boat loading, bathroom, merchant or kiosk.
  • No athletes will be allowed in the Grandstand as this area is reserved for spectators.
  • Clubs are to bring their own tents and erect.  There will be enough space for all Clubs to have their own area. Please erect your club tent , either on the far side of the grandstand or the marshalling/boat loading side.
  • No club inter-mingling is generally allowed. Keep socially distanced and use common sense to stay in your Club bubble.
  • Competitors should race and then move to their allocated area when not racing, going to the bathroom or making purchases.
  • For athletes that are in combined crews, once your race is over please move back into your Club bubble until your next race.

BOAT LOADING

At this stage due to the water level at SIRC and the pontoon being under water, we will be boat loading through the trees as per the last regatta. If this changes, you will be advised at the Team Managers meeting prior to the event.
