CEO Report for June 2018
Dear Members and Supporters,
I wish to thank all of our Community in Dragon Boating in NSW including the Individual and Club Members, Staff and the Board of DBNSW for the work that was put into our revised Strategic Plan and 3 Year Road Map. The final step of completing a Roadshow of NSW regions has been completed.
I officially wish to LAUNCH the 2018 to 2021 Strategic Road Map for DBNSW as of 1 July 2018. Please click HERE to see final document.

From the June DBNSW Board Meetings:
Business
- Great work by all DBNSW staff re the Alibaba launch on 24Apr18. Director Gio Cercone was in the boat; and Directors Tammy Glenn, Roger Norton and Nicola Frowen were on shore.
- The latest exemption notice for trailers carrying boats has been received. Contact the office if you need a copy.
- 17 Apr 18: Signed two year contract with Revolutionise.
- 17 Apr 18: CEO received email from MP Stuart Ayers confirming $10k grant for “Regional NSW Coaching and Administration Training”.
- 09 May 18: CEO was contacted by STA Travel about using their services – not required at this stage as DBNSW don’t travel enough.
- 22 May 18: Director Gio Cercone went to meeting re Marina Propsal Review, 20 Waterview Street, Putney.
Governance
- Special General meeting to dismiss current auditor and go to tender for a new auditor to save Member funds was held via teleconference on 24 Apr 18. 43 clubs dialled in and motion was unanimously passed.
- CEO has now advised the FY16/17 DBNSW auditor Pitcher Partners their services are no longer required.
- CEO Paddle Sports Australia alerted CEO to changes by AMSA regarding exemption for non-powered vessels being removed and therefore subject dragon boating to new law and levy 26 Apr 18. This recommendation has now been dismissed.
- 30 May 18: CEO and Operations Manager to attend Sport NSW Member Protection seminar in Sport Network meeting on 24 Jul 18.
Community
- Sent letter to Port Hacking DB club supporting their application to take over the lease of a council building 01 May 18.
- Congrats message for NSW based Auroras paddlers going to Asian Championships in Nov 18 sent May 18.
- 09 May 18: CEO requested Operations Manager send out info with regard to “Regional Sports Infrastructure Fund applicant resources”.
- 24 May 18: DBNSW has liaised with AOCRA to ensure dates do not clash for major events such as CY in the coming season.
AusDBF
- Meeting with AusDBF scheduled 28 Apr 18 at Tennis Centre at Olympic Park. CEO did not attend as director meeting only.
- 01 Jun 18: AusDBF Finance Director confirmed AusDBF membership levies only apply to paddlers, sweeps and drummers
- 01 Jun 18: CEO sent email to AusDBF as directed by the DBNSW Board requesting urgent action on the following items as a due diligence to our Members;

Bank St
- Meeting at Bank St on 23 May 18 re asphalting for boat ramp area for Member safety.
- 23 May 18: DBNSW Staff and Directors met with RMS Staff at Bank Street to confirm final upgrade work.
Next Board meeting is 20 August 2018.
