National Integrity Framework
Published Thu 08 Dec 2022
Dragon Boats NSW wishes to advise members of important recent changes to governance and integrity arrangements. As a member of the Australian Dragon Boat Federation (AusDBF), Dragon Boats NSW is subject to the Policies of AusDBF, current copies of which can be viewed on the AusDBF policies webpage.
On 31 August 2022, AusDBF commenced the National Integrity Framework (NIF) and relevant policies, as part of its proactive approach to mitigate integrity threats and provide a safe, fair and healthy environment for participants at all levels. We encourage members to familiarise themselves with the current policies and visit the AusDBF sport integrity webpage and Sport Integrity Australia website for further information, including about relevant policies and complaints procedure. Thank you to those Club representatives who have attended the in-person training sessions about the new integrity framework and complaint process as part of the national education program in conjunction with Paddle Australia and Rowing Australia.
To conclude the education program, and to cater for all Clubs that were unable to attend the in-person sessions, there will be an online session on Tuesday 13 December at 8-10pm AEDT via Microsoft Teams. This session will be recorded.
Liam Bourke, AusDBF’s new National Integrity Manager, will present on the National Integrity Framework (NIF) policies and complaint-handling process, with the important focus of what it means for your Club and practical advice about what to do when issues arise. The session will include 30-45 minutes Q&A with expert representatives from Sport Integrity Australia available to answer your questions.
This training is important for all Clubs and includes resources to help understand and navigate the policy changes. We kindly ask that at least one key representative (eg President/Vice-President/Secretary) and/or relevant official (eg Member Protection Information Officer) attends on behalf of your Club, however we strongly encourage multiple representatives to attend if possible.
Please register your Club’s attendees using the online form (one form per attendee). A link to the Microsoft Teams meeting will be sent to the email address provided.
