New CEO Announced
Published Wed 08 Mar 2023
Dear Clubs & Paddlers,
On behalf of the Board of Dragon Boats NSW (DBNSW), I am excited to announce the appointment of David Krantz as our new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
David joins us with a diverse work background that we believe will help deliver on our strategic plan through 2023 and beyond. For the last 4 years, David been on the leadership team at Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT, serving both as the Head of Sport and the Head of Commercial. Some of his key successes include increasing membership levels to a record high and securing a broadcast partnership with 7 plus. David has a dynamic skill set and many of the attributes David has gained from his time at Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT will come in very handy at DBNSW.
David is a sportsman and leads one of the largest social touch football clubs in Australia, The Flamingos, so is experienced in and understands what it takes to run a local sports club. He is currently completing his Bronze Medallion with Bronte Surf Life Saving Club and has represented Australia in Rugby 7's at the Maccabiah Games.
David comments: "I am excited to join the DBNSW team and continue to build on the incredible work of everyone before me. There are strong foundations within the organisation and I look forward to using my skills to help grow membership and participation, deliver world class events, target financial sustainability through alternative income streams and ensure there are positive outcomes for the Dragon Boating community at the new Bank Street Park site and our regional centres."
David’s first day will be Monday 27 March and his first week will include a handover with Ramsay Cobb and Interim CEO Lucy Warhurst. David will also be attending the State Championships so please make sure you say Hi and make him feel welcome if you see him wandering around. David has promised he will be jumping in a Dragon Boat to give it a go early on, so we will be holding him to that!
The Board wishes David the best of luck in the role and we look forward to working with him.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Lucy, Ramsay, Dylan, Ryan and Denise for their dedication and hard work over this time and we look forward to the delivery of State Champs in a few weeks. The Office continues to have lower capacity to what clubs and members are currently used to so please continue to bear with us during this time. We respectfully request that if your support query is not urgent, please wait until after State Championships and our new CEO is in place.
