The Board of Directors of Dragon Boats NSW would like to announce the appointment of Shane Knight to the position of Chief Executive Officer at Dragon Boats NSW Inc.

Shane is uniquely qualified to take on the DBNSW role having spent the past 9 years working in a member based, federated sport structure.

Shane began his career in advertising at M&C Saatchi after completing his Bachelor of Sport Business, before moving to Surf Life Saving NSW taking on several roles including Lifeguard Coordinator, Sport Development Officer and Event Coordinator before being promoted internally to the role of Sport Manager.

In 2015, he moved to Surf Life Saving Australia when he was appointed the National Sport Manager.

In his time at Surf Life Saving Australia, he has led the charge with the implementation of the Sports Review which has included the development of new surf sports products, a new elite series (Ocean6) and the introduction of new technology into sport. He has also collaborated with a big team of volunteers to successfully deliver and lead three 'Aussies' as well as revamping the Coolangatta Gold.

Shane is also the co-founder of the anti-violence charity, The White Knight Foundation where they educate young Australians on the dangers of youth violence, whilst raising funds for victims of crime.

Shane is very excited to bring his experience and new ideas to the position and organisation when he begins in mid December.
