Published Thu 09 Dec 2021
DBNSW would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest club Ryde Dragon Boat Club (Ryde DBC).
Ryde DBC is a start-up community sporting group, established in October 2021. The club strives to provide an opportunity for everyone in our community to participate in healthy, safe and inclusive dragon boating activities in a fun and family orientated environment.
“We are fortunate to have a very experienced Board with collectively 70+ years of experience in the sport with all 5 members having represented NSW and/or Australia as a paddler and/or official and been on Club/State Boards.” said Ryde DBC Chair Corina Wotherspoon.
“We also have qualified dragon boat coaches and our Head Coach and three Assistant Coaches have over 45 collective years’ experience. We are in the final stages of setting up our site for the dragon boats so we can start training. We are grateful for the support that we have received from City of Ryde and DBNSW.”
Ryde DBC will provide community access to dragon boating, not only through club membership but also through their passion for corporate training and community engagement.
The club have launched their website, Facebook and Instagram, be sure to follow their pages. Any enquiries can be emailed to info@rydedragonboatclub.org.
Ryde DBC will be having an official club launch on Saturday 15th January at their home in Putney Park between 9:00am to 12:00pm.
