Sport NSW Awards
Published Wed 31 May 2017
Dragon Boats NSW is a member of Sport NSW, which is the peak body for sport in NSW. Each year Sport NSW presents Community Sport Awards to recognise outstanding people working in community sport. Each year Dragon Boats NSW nominates suitable members for these awards. The Board is pleased to announce that two of its nominations have been selected as finalists in these Awards. Our first finalist is Tanya White of the Different Strokes Club. Tanya has been nominated in the Community Coach category. Different Strokes has achieved outstanding results over a sustained period of time and Tanya has been the driving force. Tanya fully deserves to be among the finalists. Our second finalist is Stephanie Ibrahim, who has been nominated in the Young Coach (Under 21 years) category. Stephanie has coached her club, Marist for a number of years and over the past two years has coached the NSW Juniors in State vs State racing at the Australian Championships achieving great results. The Sport NSW Community Sport Awards will be announced by the Hon Stuart Ayres at a function at Parliament House on 29 June. Congratulations to our two finalists.
