DBNSW is proud to reveal the new Dragon Boats New South Wales logo.

This is an exciting journey in the evolution of dragon boating in NSW. This new brand identifies with the core values and characteristics of our members and clubs.

It aligns with AusDBF and other State Dragon Boating bodies to create consistent branding and a clear message across the country, signifying a united sporting movement.

Brand guidelines, club adoption plan, logo rollout and education to be release in the coming months.

The new season ahead is one that will be driven by our core values.

With new initiatives, more regattas and a more professional approach to how our regattas are delivered.

In the calendar this year, we have included:

  • A 5 race Regatta Series
  • Region v Region returns
  • State-wide Open Day
  • 14 Regional Regattas
  • New look Lunar New Year Races

NATIONAL PRIDE COME & TRY WEEKEND

AusDBF in partnership with each of the State Members will run a National Pride Come and Try Weekend on the 17/18 September 2022.

To be part of this exciting initiative and the opportunity to recuit new members for your club, each club is required to complete an expression of interest here.

AusDBF is supporting the National Pride Come and Try Weekend initiative by providing each signed up club with marketing and resources.

AURORAS COME AND TRY CAMP

AusDBF have endorsed a Nationwide come and try opportunity for all those interested in being involved in the Auroras. This includes athletes, coaches, clubs supporting athletes and those wanting to be involved in team management aspects.

The program will cover:

  1. What it means to be an Aurora
  2. How to prepare for selection camp across different divisions
  3. How coaches and clubs can support
  4. What it means to be involved in the management team
  5. What's the ongoing level of effort to be ready to compete

  MPIO Training
 

MPIO TRAINING

The Office of Sport have circulated their Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) training courses for the rest of 2022. The courses are free and held entirely online.

Member Protection Information Officers (MPIO) play a vital role in protecting the rights and welfare of club members as the 'go to' person to raise issues, concerns and complaints

Dragon Boats NSW highly encourages each club to have an MPIO.

  SPORT NSW FAST TRACK FEMALE COACHES COURSE
 

FAST TRACK COACHES COURSE

Three NSW based female coaches recently attended the Sport NSW Fast Track for Female Coaches Course.

This was a six week course held at ACPE in Sydney Olympic Park with the aim to connect aspiring female coaches, provide exclusive insight, and further development in coaching and leadership behaviours and competencies.

Half of the course cost was reimbursed by Dragon Boats NSW.

WELCOME - NAMOI DRAGONS

DBNSW would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest club Namoi Dragons.

Namoi Dragons are the newest sport and recreational club for the Narrabri Shire and the club is all about fun and fitness.

A special thanks must go to Dubbo Dragons who donated a boat to get the new club started.

The Namoi Dragon boaters are looking forward to taking part in competition and hosting their own local regatta in the near future.

DBNSW is now calling on the assistance of volunteers for the upcoming 2022/23 season.

Volunteering is a great way to support your club and the DBNSW Community particularly for those wanting to stay in touch with the sport but may no longer be able to participate.
